The mission of the Dissertation Writing Group (DWG) is to provide doctoral students with an expanded network of support to encourage completion of the dissertation writing process.  The DWG is open to doctoral students from all programs and is a joint effort by the Graduate School, the UM Writing Center, and the UM Richter Library.  Participants attend short, weekly meetings supervised by a Writing Center faculty member where they can set individual writing goals and receive feedback from others who may not be in the same academic program, but who share the common experience of dissertation writing.  DWG participants will have access to quiet meeting spaces and occasional mini-workshops (20 minutes) covering citation, common grammatical mistakes, avoiding plagiarism, managing and sharing research, and other topics that they may request.
